This is a copy of Giant-Size X-Men #1 graded CGC 9.8 – one of 196 copies to receive that grade. It is the first comic to feature Wolverine as a member of the X-Men and it is the first appearance of classic characters Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus and (less classic) Thunderbird. It represented a transition between the original X-Men and a newer crop of heroes.

Rally purchased this copy for $57,000 on June 4th, 2021.

About the drop

This asset will drop on Rally Road at 12 PM ET on August 25th, 2021 for $64,000. There is no retained equity. Rally Road typically schedules the first trading window between 3-5 months after the IPO funds and the assets are supposed to then trade quarterly, but the schedule has been erratic.

About the X-Men

Wyatt wrote about the X-Men back in March. Suffice to say, an issue that introduced the most popular X-Men character (Wolverine) to the team and also marked the first appearance of a few other well-known characters (who feature in the movies) carries significant cultural cachet.
