About the Asset
This is a Superman comic published in 1940; it features a few notable firsts for the Superman series:
- First appearance of Lex Luthor
- First mention of the Daily Planet
- First time the comic had the DC bullet on its cover
Grade 5.5 isn’t usually much to sniff about, but this comic is very difficult to come by in decent nick. Only four are graded 5.5, and there are just 20 of superior quality.
About the drop
This asset will drop on Rally at noon EST 26th May 2021 with a market cap of $28k (no retained equity). From then, there will be around three months lockup before trading begins on a quarterly basis.

About Superman
I think it’s fair to say everyone in America — and many many places beyond — knows who Superman is. He first appeared in Action Comics #1 April 1938 and has been adapted into a number of other media including radio serials, novels, films, TV shows, and theatre.
Action Comics #1 kicked off what’s called the Golden Age of comics, which lasted until around 1958, when it was replaced by the silver age (cost cutting).
The Man (of Steel) himself was born on the planet Krypton, but his parents sent him to Earth to escape his home world’s destruction. As he gets older and develops his powers, he takes on an altar ego (Clark Kent) to protect his privacy. He goes on to fight various battles against various villains throughout hundreds of storylines.
Superman is the standard by which superheroes were measured for decades.
In this particular issue, Clark and Lois (the love interest) travel to Europe to report on the war unfolding (remember it’s 1940).
